Finding Light Within
The Power of Self-Talk
Hello, beautiful people!
If you’re anything like me, maybe you’re searching for a little more light, a bit of inspiration, or just a way to feel a little more like you every day. I’ve been on this journey for a while, and if there’s one thing that’s helped me the most, it’s this: the way I talk to myself changes everything.
I’ve realised our words have this quiet, incredible power. What we speak, we slowly become - and we start inviting those very things into our lives. Over time, I noticed that my self-talk was shaping how I saw myself, how I felt about myself, and even the kind of life I was creating around me. So, I began tuning in to the things I was saying to myself every day. In those moments of doubt or worry, I’d ask, “Is this how I want to see myself? Is this who I want to be?”
To keep myself focused, I started writing messages or affirmations on my mirror with a whiteboard marker - things I wanted to believe, goals I was reaching for, and reminders of who I was becoming. Even if I didn’t consciously read them every day, just seeing those words was powerful. They were sinking in, embedding into my mind on a subconscious level, gently reminding me of the path I was on. Those simple reminders made such a difference because, even if we don’t always feel it, we’re absorbing those messages daily.
The more I replaced old, limiting thoughts with supportive ones, the more I felt a shift. The way I thought and spoke about myself started shining back at me, reflecting out into the world. This simple shift in self-talk has been one of the most healing parts of my journey. The power of thought is truly the key to how we feel - internally and externally.
So today, I invite you to tune into your self-talk. Is it supporting you? Lifting you up? Remind yourself of the best version of you, the one you dream about, and speak to yourself as if you’re already that person. The more we speak positivity into our lives, the more we radiate that energy to those around us. How we think about ourselves is what the world sees, so let’s make it something beautiful.
And don’t forget to take the time to appreciate yourself for the small wins and the battles you’ve conquered. Keep going and be proud of you.
Sending love and light your way,
Renee
